The Tennessee Conference of the American Association of University Professors met on Saturday, November 5 on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Among many items on the agenda, were threats to academic freedom and tenure in our state and a celebration of successful efforts to protect our professional values.

Dr. Warren Nichols, newly-installed vice chancellor for community colleges for the Tennessee Board of Regents, agreed to attend and visit with our conference members.

Dr. Rich Rhoda, executive director of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and long-time AAUP member, accepted our invitation to attend.

I’m happy to answer any questions.
